“Attack on Titan” is a manga written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. It takes place in a world where humanity resides in walled cities to protect themselves from the Titans, massive humanoid beings who prey on humans indiscriminately. The story revolves around Eren Yeager, alongside his childhood friends Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert. Their lives undergo a seismic shift when a Colossus Titan destroys their hometown, costing Eren’s mother her life. Driven by revenge and the desire to reclaim their world, Eren, Mikasa and Armin enlist in the Survey Corps, a specialized unit tasked with fighting the Titans beyond the walls.

Serialization began in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shōnen magazine in October 2009 and concluded in May 2021. The inaugural tankōbon volume was released in March 2010, with the final 34th volume released in June 2021. In North America, Kodansha USA released the English version, releasing the first volume on June 19, 2012. Initially, releases followed a three to four month interval, switching to a monthly schedule in mid-2013 to sync up with the Japanese editions, returning to the original pace at the end of the year. The manga also inspired an anime adaptation by Wit Studio of IG Port (seasons 1–3) and MAPPA (season 4), premiering on MBS on April 7, 2013. The anime is available for streaming on Funimation and Crunchyroll.
